Workshop Description
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) represents a significant mental health challenge that can be difficult to recognize and treat in individuals with social communication challenges. This workshop will discuss why trauma is often overlooked in autistic individuals and how to enhance awareness of PTSD and support effective intervention.

Bio
Dr. Katelyn Lowe is a Registered Psychologist and Chief Strategy Officer at The Sinneave Family Foundation. Since 2008, Katelyn has been involved in the development, delivery and evaluation of a number of programs including Launch, PEERS and Worktopia. In her private practice (mindbrio.ca), Dr. Lowe specializes in autism diagnosis in women and the treatment of mental health issues. Katelyn is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Calgary and a volunteer Board Member for Special Olympics Calgary.
