Space-out for real, in the vastness of the universe, and shuttle up to discover the incredible unknown of the Milky Way.

You have been officially invited to the Milky Way! Well, sort of… you’re invited to the next episode in the Direct From series is Direct From the Milky Way. Live from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada’s (RASC) observatory, astronomers Simon Poole and Eric Klaszus will take students on adventure to the stars. We will visit the sun, check out the phases of the moon, before being shown how our little blue planet fits into Milky Way. Through the use of telescopes and pre-recorded footage, you will be taken on an interactive tour of the cosmos. Have you ever seen the fiery pillars of light explode from the sun’s surface? Now is your chance! (Weather permitting).

This is a live and interactive program that will allow students to ask those big space questions that are out of this world!
