Ups and Downs is pleased to offer a new FunDrum – Music Therapy Workshop in collaboration with JB Music Therapy!
FunDrum – Music Therapy Workshop is an online Music Therapy workshop created for you to connect with others, meet new people, make some music, and feel more relaxed and supported. For this FunDrum Workshop, the class will be led by a Music Therapist and you will improvise with any instrument or resource you have available in your at home (an ice cream bucket, etc) This is a 4 week workshop that’s on Friday’s at 4:00 PM, starting on Friday November 20th.
Please note, spaces in the workshop are limited, and spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis.
Here’s what FunDrum is all about:
Connection:
FunDrum offers opportunities to interact and engage with others in the group. It promotes collaborative music making and positive community spirit between group members. Drumming encourages verbal and non-verbal communication, and it allows for the development of relationships at a deeper level.
Exploration:
FunDrum incorporates instruments or the sounds in your home with various tones and timbres. Exploring and improvising on these and being led through different ways to play and play together is integral to the music experience for each session.
Expression:
FunDrum promotes a safe and positive space for all group members to express how the music makes them feel. This can be accomplished, verbally, musically, or non-verbally. Participants are also encouraged to be respectful of each others’ expressions.

COST FOR MEMBERS: $25 *pricing is being subsidized by a grant*
WHAT YOU’LL NEED: Laptop or Mobile/Tablet device with a mic and a camera, as well as a stable internet connection.
