Information Session for Parents/Guardians of High School Students With Developmental Disabilities (Vecova)
- Do you wonder what recreational and educational opportunities might exist for your child after high school?
- What programs exist to help them find work?
- What life after high school might be like?
* Many different types of programs and services will be discussed, not just Vecova services
If so, here is an opportunity to hear directly from individuals and their parents/guardians who have already experienced the transition from high school to adulthood.
What: Panel chat with adults with developmental disabilities and their parents/guardians.
Adults with developmental disabilities aged 20-30 who have made the transition from high school to adulthood will share their stories about what programs/services or other supports were useful in entering adulthood. Their parents/guardians will also share their perspective.
Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions to the panel as well.
When: Thursday January 26, 2023 from 6:30-8:00pm
Where: The panel will be in person at the Child Development Centre in Calgary. The session will also be live on Zoom.
