Peers for Teens (Centre for Autism Services Alberta)

Making and keeping friends can be hard for everyone, but it can be a special challenge for teens with autism.

PEERS is a world-renowned, evidence-based social skills program for teens on the autism spectrum. Developed by UCLA researchers, it is delivered by certified trainers in over 80 countries around the world, including at the Centre! And now with new, digital delivery methods, this sought-after program is available Alberta-wide!

In this 14-week program, teens will learn:

-How to enter & exit conversations

-Choose appropriate friends

-Handle teasing & bullying

-Use electronic communications safely

Location: Online delivery via Zoom Video Conference!

Age: 13-17

Cost: A $300 registration fee is due upon acceptance to the program. The registration fee may be covered by health benefits and can also be paid in a variety of installment plans. Centre bursaries are available for those who qualify. The full cost of the program may be covered by FSCD. Please contact the Centre for further pricing details.
