Pokaiks – The Children: Orange Shirt Day Walk (Colouring It Forward Reconciliation Society)
Calgary-based Colouring It Forward Reconciliation Society is pleased to present the annual Pokaiks (pookehks) – The Children: Orange Shirt Day Walk.
Come and walk with us to commemorate survivors of Residential Schools and the Sixties Scoop and to remember the children we lost. We will also hear from elders, survivors and activists working to make positive change, we will offer honour songs and traditional dancing and food too! We invite you to come and participate in our dancing, interactive art booths, visit our artisans, bring your children, your friends to take reconciliation together to help us make the future better for us all.
This year 2022 we are partnering with the City of Calgary for the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation at Fort Calgary.
Pokaiks: the Children Orange Shirt Day runs from 9am-2pm, with a walk across Reconciliation Bridge and aerial salute.
