Technology Workshop: Seeing AI (CNIB)
Launched in mid 2017 by Microsoft, Seeing AI is a fantastic vision aide that narrates the world around you. Designed for the blind and low vision community, this ongoing research project harnesses the power of AI to open up the visual world and describe nearby people, text and objects.
The app can read short texts, products, handwriting, documents, colours, light and even people. It can also scan barcodes to describe a product and has a sound to assist the user in focusing on the barcode.
This technology workshop meets via Zoom web conference and telephone on July 16 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Call in information will be given upon registration.
